Chapter 5 - Maxi Dress heal combo disasters

Hmm there is quite a bit of fact in this chapter. I love going on hen do's and I've been a bridesmaid a few times so I've had a lot of experience planning them too. All of the props purchased for Kristen's bachelorette party are items used on one of my friends hen dos. The bun pincher went down especially well, except as Millie found out it doesn't work well for actually pinching bums and instead we used it as a ball/boob pincher. The decision dice were also a particular favourite of mine, and led to some amusing situations.

The scene where Millie trips and rips her skirt is based on an incident that happened to me in Thailand. I was dancing on a table on the beach one night and i tripped off it and stood on my skirt. It had a clean rip all the way from the hem of the skirt to my bum and as the skirt was tightish it was leaving me pretty exposed. Luckily I was travelling at the time with a guy who kindly lent me his t'shirt to have round my waist.

The character of James is slightly based in truth. I was at a roof bar in New York on a hen do and I saw a cute guy and when I started talking to him it turned out he was English.

The handcuffing incidents are based slightly on my sister's hen do in Spain, although the kidnapping of a man is definitely fiction!
